Vicki owns an ice cream shop in Madeira Beach which is usually full of tourists. But because of COVID-19, their ice cream business is in a challenging time. For the past days, Vicki was able to pivot their approach by doing curbside pickup. However, their earnings from that are still enough. Today, Vicki is with Gary to ask for a piece of advice about her ice cream business.
Gary’s Story and Advices
Gary empathizes a lot with Vicki. What is happening to her right now is the same scenario with Gary’s restaurant friends in New York. Gary also lost some clients on the Vayner side that are selling clothes. Both retail and online players are not doing well because that’s not what people are thinking right now.
The storytime is the thing that Gary is most focused on right now because it’s the one thing everybody can control. Putting out content about the stories is really at some level besides the promotion of curbside.
Gary thinks an ice pack direct to consumers by shipping ice cream in pints around the country, not just in his local area, is something Vicki has to consider seriously. And Gary would spend a lot of time right now on the packaging. The best example is ordering five to seven pints of ice cream from people who ship around the country to see how they send it.
