Shamil is an entrepreneur by blood. She used to sell different stuff when she was still in school. Presently, she owns a cosmetic line called The Unicorn Locker Cosmetics, which helps empower women with knowledge and understanding that they can be anybody they want to be, regardless of their background.
She was able to earn 35k followers on Tiktok and now wants to know how she can be able to funnel her Tiktok followers to her Instagram account and then to her website to get sales. She also asked Gary how important SEO is when building a startup brand.

Gary found out that Shamil is not putting much content on TikTok to give awareness that she’s on Instagram. So he suggested that Shamil should start being creative by starting a skit on TikTok and at the end of the video, she would say something like, “Oh, do you want to see the end of this? Go to my Instagram now.”. Shamil can also make an engaging piece of content in Tiktok where she would announce doing an Instagram live at a specific time.
On SEO (Search Engine Optimization):
SEO is essential when building a brand. But Gary thinks that it’s a very complex, very mature business, and a lot of small people can’t win that SEO game as much as they think where they can win like TikTok. Gary firmly believes that at this moment, most small players need to focus on social content, raise their funds, and potentially hire outside SEO, because it’s so mature.
