Chris’s Question or Topic

Chris is a homesteader from Colorado. He and his wife left their corporate lives, sold all the things they didn’t need, and moved to Colorado. As he documents his journey of being a homesteader on Youtube, he noticed that every time he goes solo in front of a camera, he would clam up and couldn’t arrange his thoughts well. So he asks Gary how to be himself in front of the camera.

Gary’s Story and Advices

Gary thinks that Chris should take a big step back and think about the reason why he should let somebody’s anonymous opinion stop him from telling his truth.

Gary hates being solo, too. When he did Wine Library TV, he made interactions with Caster, and Chris Motts because he needed the action. When he aired Ask GaryVee, he had Stunwin by his side. And now on Tea With GaryVee, Gary partnered with Dustin. So when Chris creates videos, he may want to go on Facebook Live or Youtube Live and do it live because Chris is getting a little bit of that human interaction, or he may also need a virtual co-host by going on StreamYard.

When Chris is documenting his homesteading journey, Gary suggests that Chris should just focus on documenting and not worry about the talking. What he can do is add voice-over during post-production. This way, he’ll have the time to arrange his thoughts well.
