Eric’s Question or Topic

Eric launched a digital agency last June 2019 focused on content creation and social media management. Because of COVID-19, he lost almost all of his clients and luckily managed to maintain one. Eric wants to know if it’s tone-deaf to solicit new businesses from a B2B perspective during this time. Eric also asked Gary what things he can learn during this crisis and some tips to handle it.

Gary’s Story and Advices

According to Gary, it’s tone-deaf to be in sales, it’s brilliant to be in branding. Eric should create LinkedIn videos of “what if” scenarios. This is the best time to create fake scenarios so Eric should create “what if’s” around scenarios of the kind of SMB’s Eric would like to hire.

On tips on how to get through this crisis:

Eric needs cash to be able to get through this crisis. Cash is oxygen in business. So Eric should go into eBay and sell all things he no longer needs or uses. Eric also needs the humility to be basic, simplistic, and minimal. Gary also suggested Eric to play the worst-case scenarios.
