Jay’s Question or Topic

Jay is a 62-year-old entrepreneur. He has been working with over 500 people on VaynerMedia on their well-being twice a month and while working there, he found out the generosity of Millenials to accept what he has to say as someone with experience. He has also been speaking to audiences ever since The Biggest Loser. He wants to know what Gary sees as an opportunity to connect with more people of all ages during this time.

Gary’s Story and Advices

People should produce content at scale – videos on LinkedIn and Youtube that will stay true forever.

Many people underestimate the value and wisdom of what others, especially the ones of higher age, can bring to the table. A grandma, uncle, or a mentor may not know how to dance on f*cking TikTok, but they can teach someone a ton of sh*t that one will not know for another two decades.

Gary wants people to realize that aged people have decades left, and that he wants the 15, 25, 35 and 45-year-olds to realize how much value they can extract from such individuals.

“It’s literally just a perspective. There are so many people that dwell and think they were born in a bad situation. And instead of seeing the opportunity, that the dirt under their fingernails allows them, they decide that the machine and life are unfair and they’ve been handed a bad hand. And they don’t know how to play that hand.” ~ Gary Vaynerchuk

“The reason poker is such a game that attracts the people besides the math is it’s a game of life.” ~ Gary Vaynerchuk

“Start making content about what you want to be known for, not what the audience is giving you likes for. It’s gonna lead to a much happier life.” ~ Gary Vaynerchuk

@14:51

“It’s not fun to be in the ecosystem of just living for the like.” ~ Gary Vaynerchuk
